Our beautiful ride today took us east from Phoenix along wildflower-lined roads. Mixtures of orange, pink, yellow, blue, and purple highlighted our way.
We climbed up two passes today--Gonzales and Signal Mountain.
On our way up the second pass, we hit 500 miles for the trip.
So we jumped up and down to celebrate.
We made it to Peridot on the Apache Reservation, where Steve met us with our gear. He is going back to his home in Durango tomorrow and we will miss him terribly. We were blessed to have his encouragement, support, humor, and extremely positive presence to start us out well.
And now we're sleeping under some bleachers.
