Border patrol and who knew there'd be snow?!

So yesterday toward he end of the day we were climbing up a huge hill to an elevation of 4,000 feet. I know everyone from Colorado is like big deal, we live at 5280 and have 14k foot peaks. While your are right, we started from sea level.
We were astounded that we came across snow in our route. To boost moral Caley furiously biked ahead and decided to build a snowman for Jessica and me. Here's the evidence.

He had a tire lever for a nose and gummy fruit snacks for a eyes. It's pretty awesome!!!
"What goes up must come down, spinning wheel got to go round." So we got to camp in snow before riding back down and down we went! We descended over 4k feet in only a few miles and it was incredible. Top speed was only 38.4 mph, but there was a headwind.
Of in the distance we saw a fence. We reasoned that this was the fences separated the US and Mexico. Spoiler alert, the sentences that follow are a slightly racist joke. So why is it that Mexico has a really poor showing at every Olympics? Answer, because anyone who can run, jump, or swim is already in the US.
Upon closer inspection this was an incredibly large fence that separated Mexico from U.S. Obviously it's necessary to peruse a little closer, so we did. We decided to hang out with the border patrol for a couple of minutes.
We wanted to get pictures with them, but they declined because they "did not want to be on the cover of gay magazine." Odd, I was not aware that this was the sentiment that those around me have. This is a shout out to Jason and Stephanie if you are reading this!
Here's the fence.

I won't include the pictures of the border patrol out of respect for them, here's on of their cars though.

You could not find more patriotic you guys. Both of the men that we talked to were Mexican, but born in United States. When asked if they were conflicted about having their job be to arrest people that were Mexicans trying to get into United States one of them remarked "first and foremost I am an American citizen." He has family members that live in Mexico, and they're actually trying to get into the United States. He said to us that he had "handcuffs waiting for his family members if they should try to get into United States with out the proper procedures." Wow! Over the course of one shift and a 14 mile stretch his team patrolled and they caught 24 people.
Caley and Jessica both remarked that they are incredibly happy with the privileges that come with being born on this side of the fence. I agree!!!
Te duermas con angelitos!
