Before leaving Texas we got to go have a gay ol time in Gay Hill, Texas. Through a series of business connections from Caleys dad and his friend pat, we were introduced to Steve and Gail Sisco. A kind, welcoming couple who run the gay hill cycling club and who happen to enjoy spoiling cross country cyclists such as ourselves.
We met them and several other riders halfway through their Saturday morning ride in round top, texas. After some amazing ice cream covered pie, we headed out for a ride through rolling hills of wildflowers. We all arrived in gay hill together and jumped in this refreshing horse trough.
We frolicked away the afternoon mixing margaritas, eating good cheese and getting to know these great folks. We spent the night in the cycling house, and had a relaxed morning the following day trying to come up with an excuse to stay :) The threatening storms almost did the trick but in the end we decided to get on our bikes and ride.
We got lucky and did not get hit by hail (although we were wearing helmets so probably not such a big deal if we had) or get swept up in a tornado. We did make it to cagle state park. Below a photo of Caley and I doing the appropriate exercises.
At cagle, we found Jim and Mary- Caleys fun aunt and uncle who are with us now and for the next few days through Louisiana. We had ribs, corn, beer an plenty of laughs. They have continued to make us amazing meals, and we seem to laugh more and more together each day.
Besides making it into another state today, we had a second big landmark. Today, Caley and I were asked not only If we were sisters (something that has happened 12 times so far by our count), but were asked of we were twins. I am not sure if it was our matching outfits, or the fact that we both look so much like chickens that gave that man this idea.
Tomorrow we look forward to our first full day in Louisiana and finding Tad something pink to wear. We are going for the "hey- aren't you 3 triplets?" question by the end of this trip. Goodnight!

I actually initially wondered if you three were triplets, but knew that Tad's beard, coupled with your clearly differing dancing styles exhibited at Chope's, ruled out the possibilty.
ReplyDeleteUpon your return home, the three of you should immediately seek counseling! Jusy kidding, im pretty sure you guys are the good kind of crazy. Enjoy Cajun Country. -matt
